The Mula-Mutha, which flows through my hometown of Pune, has been biologically dead over the last several decades, and has seen numerous failed promises of revival. Over the past few years, a multi-million dollar effort to transform the river has been underway- which has so far resulted in large scale deforestation to make way for concrete embankments, with little change to the river’s waters. The photobook chronicles this change and the possible future ahead.
